New gear update: what I actually shoot with
The setup, since people keep asking
Finally upgraded a few things this month, so here's the current kit for anyone curious:
- Camera: mirrorless body, upgraded from my old one that finally gave out
- Lens: a fast 50mm prime for almost everything — 85mm when I want more compression
- Lighting: two softboxes plus a cheap ring light I'm slightly ashamed of but still use constantly
- Editing: minimal — mostly just exposure and color, nothing that changes what actually happened in the room
I was going to buy a second flash this month. Priorities changed — funding a better tripod instead, since half my blurry rejects are just shaky hands.
Good light fixes more problems than good gear ever will. Still true.
